What is Computer?


A computer is a type of electronic equipment used to manipulate data or information. Data which can be stored, retrieved, and processed by it. The "Grand Father" of the computer is Charles Babbage. The acronym of Charles Babbage's initial mechanical computer was Analytical Engine. In this system, read-only information is stored on punch cards.

Characteristics of Computer

If the software that provides instructions and the data that is supplied as input to the computer is accurate and reliable, the output that a computer produces is very reliable.

Storage Volume

Data retrieval is made easier and massive volumes of data can be stored thanks to the computer's ability to store enormous amounts of data on minuscule storage devices.

Automation

After receiving the commands, the computer starts working independently without any human input until the software has completed its task and meets the logical requirements to conclude the job.
